Dear Parents and Carers of our Worcester Park, Kingston and Stoneleigh Nurseries,

We hope you all enjoyed the first month of 2018, and all your New Year resolutions are in action! In January we had our first Parent Forum Meeting with our newly assigned Parent Representatives, it was great to see so many of you and as always we appreciate receiving your feedback. We are also very proud and excited now our 3rd Nursery in Stoneleigh has opened, the children are really enjoying themselves and are settling in great!

The Children have enjoyed learning about climate change and have been linking this into cold climate animals, which they have really enjoyed. They had the opportunity to explore with Ice, and made some great ice sculptures with gloves filled with animals inside the ice blocks. The Children also enjoyed problem solving activities during puzzle week.

As we enter into February the children will be exploring the following topics over the next month.

Parent Partnership – Reminders and Notable Dates:

    Reminders

Security of the Gates at Worcester Park

It has been bought to our attention at our Parent Forum Meeting that the gate to the entrance of the nursery and the gate at the top of the stairs at Worcester Park are both being left open. Please can I urgently remind Parents these gates have locks on for a purpose and must be locked after entering/leaving for the safety of all of the children to prevent any accidents from happening. Please can I strongly urge all Parents/Carers to tell other Parents immediately if you notice them leaving the gate open and inform the Person in Charge.

    Scooters/Bikes

Whilst we are waiting for planning permission for our second buggy shed to be built, we want to advise Parents and Carers that we have space in our outside area for bikes and scooters only, as many Parents and Carers have asked for a separate area for these as they can get tangled up in pushchairs in the buggy shed. Please ask the team in the morning if you require this space.

Things to try at home this month

    • Make your own bird nest using cheerio’s and apples and place this in your garden and watch all the birds visit!
    • To celebrate National Pizza Day, design your own silly face using pizza toppings and bake in the oven!
    • To celebrate Chinese New Year fold a piece of A4 paper into small squares and cut out a lantern shape on one side to make a lantern paperchain.
    • To celebrate Valentine’s Day bake some cakes and design heart shapes using icing pens.
