    February 2020 Newsletter

    Dear Parents and Carers of our Kingston and Worcester Park Nurseries,

    We hope you have all enjoyed the month of January.

    During January we looked at the following topics, winter, Arctic animals, Chinese New Year and snow and ice.

    Our Topics in February 2020

    As we enter into February please take a look at the different topics we will be learning about each week…

    Winter Term

    Week 1 – Gardening and Growing- Week Commencing 03/02/2020

    The children will be planting their own flowers, growing cress and observing how seeds transform into fruits and flowers. The children will also have an opportunity to design their own gardens and engage in

    Week 2 – Valentines Week -Week Commencing 10/02/2020

    The children will be designing cards for Valentine’s Day, Roleplaying a restaurant dinner experience and learning all about friendships and kindness.

    Week 3 – Sports Week - Week Commencing 17/02/2020

    We will be looking at different sports and the children will have the chance to take part in obstacle courses in the garden. The children will be learning all about tennis, football, golf and many other sports in the garden.

    Week 4 – My Body - 24/02/2020

    The children will be learning about their bodies and observing the different features that we all have, e.g. hair colour, eye colour. We will learn how to take care of our bodies and how it is important to exercise.

    Wet Weather

    With winter now here could we ask that you provide some wellington boots and a rain coat for your child so that the children can explore outside even in the damp weather.

    Holidays and Absences

    Please can we remind all Parents/Carers to email the nursery in advance with any holiday dates or absences. If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.

    Security of Nursery Front Door

    Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to our Nurseries.

    This is for the safety of all the children.
