    Dear Parents and Carers of our Worcester Park, Kingston and Stoneleigh Nurseries,

    We hope you all enjoyed the festive season and would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the Parents, Carers, Grandparents and children who joined us for our Christmas Party at Goals, we all had a lovely time with you all. The children have created some fantastic crafts, for the festive season. Our Pre-School Children also had so much fun receiving special calls from Santa to keep them posted on his journey towards Christmas!

    Our Topics in January 2019

    As we start the New Year and enter into January, the children will take part in a variety of winter activities. Please take a look at what the children will be learning about each week…

    Winter Term

    The children will be celebrating and recognising these special dates during January.

    1st January - New Year’s Day

    21st January - Martin Luther King Day

    21st January - Squirrel Appreciation Day

    25th January - Burns supper night

    26th January - Australia Day

    29th January - National Puzzle Day

     

     Week 1 – ‘Seasonal Changes’

    The children will be looking at Seasonal Changes this week exploring the garden and looking at the changes they can observe by creating sensory trays to take a closer look at what winter brings.

    Week 2 – ‘Cold Climate Animals’

    This week the children will be focusing on cold climate animals, The children will enjoy water play with water and snow based animals, They will also be making winter animals with a variety of different materials such as tissue paper and cotton wool.

    Week 3 – ‘Snow and Ice’

    This week we will be keeping in with the theme of cold climate animals as we explore snow and ice. The children will explore sensory ice play including ‘frozen’ gloves with a mix of objects and textures to see how they change in ice. The children will also learn about Eskimo’s and Igloos.   

    Week 4 ‘Puzzle week/world celebrations’   

    This week we will be celebrating our friends and families by making photo books and talking about what our families and friends enjoy doing.

    We re-open for the New Year on Wednesday 2nd January, 2019 at 7.30am.

     

    We hope you enjoy the Christmas holidays, and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!

    Security of Nursery Front Door

     

    Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to Nurseries.

    This is for the safety of all the children.

    Holidays and Absences

    Please can we remind all Parents/Carers to email the nursery in advance with any holiday dates or absences. If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.
