Dear Parents and Carers of our Kingston and Worcester Park Nurseries, We hope you have all enjoyed the month of December. During December we looked at Christmas celebrations and Hanukkah. Our Topics in January 2020

As we enter into January, please take a look at the different topics we will be learning about each week…

Winter Term Week 1 - Winter Seasonal Change - Week Commencing 6/01/2020

The children will be observing the changes during the winter season, we will learn about weather changes, animal changes and create our own snowy landscape pictures

Week 2 - Cold Climate Animals -Week Commencing 13/01/2020

The children will be discovering the types of animals that live in cold climates, e.g. Penguins and polar bears. We will enjoy small world cold climate landscapes and learn how these animals use their special fur and feathers to keep themselves warm in such cold temperatures.

Week 3 - Chinese New Year- Week Commencing 20/01/2020

This week we will be looking at Chinese New Year – Year of the Rat. The children will have a chance to taste some Chinese food as well as role play Chinese restaurants. Pre – School will learn how to spell their names using Chinese symbols.

Week 4 – Snow and Ice - 27/01/2020

We will be looking at Snow and Ice, We will learn how snow is formed and that all snowflakes are unique. The children will be doing some ice painting and create their own snowflakes using salt and glue.

The Nurseries will re-open for 2020 on Thursday 2nd January at 7.30am

Wet Weather

With winter now here could we ask that you provide some wellington boots and a rain coat for your child so that the children can explore outside even in the damp weather.

Holidays and Absences

Please can we remind all Parents/Carers to email the nursery in advance with any holiday dates or absences. If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.

Security of Nursery Front Door

Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to our Nurseries. This is for the safety of all the children.
