Dear Parents and Carers of our Worcester Park, Kingston and Stoneleigh Nurseries,

We hope everyone enjoyed the month of June, it has been an exciting month with the start of the 2018 World Cup!

During June, our focus topic of the month was healthy eating and keeping ourselves fit. The children enjoyed a local outing to the green grocers to purchase a selection of fruits and vegetables. On return to the nursery, the children enjoyed exploring the smell, touch and taste of the different fruits and vegetables, they also made their own fruit sticks – these were extremely tasty! The children also explored foods from around the world and had the opportunity to taste these too. The children enjoyed creative play with cooked noodles and pasta, mixed with shaving foam and coloured sand, this was enjoyed by all.

Our Pre-School children have been learning about the importance of dental hygiene, we have been practicing brushing our teeth after meal times.

Take a look at our gallery of photographs of what the children have been learning and exploring from the month of June at our nurseries……………………………………….

    Our Topics in July 2018

As we enter into July, we begin our Summer term topics, please take a look at what the children will be learning about each week…

    Summer Term

The children will be celebrating and recognising these special dates during June

    10th – 20th July – Sports Week

    3rd – 16th July – Wimbledon Tennis

    7th – 29th July – Tour de France

    30th – International Friendship Day

    Week 1 – ‘Seasonal Change’

The children will be observing the changes of season as we approach into summer. We will be learning about sun safety, looking at protective clothing and the importance of wearing sun cream. The children will be visiting our local parks and will enjoy lots of water and sand play outside!

    Week 2 – ‘Holidays – Sunny Climates’

The children will be sharing their own family holidays in sunny climates with their friends. We would like Parents/Carers to bring in holiday photographs from in the sun! The children will also be making their own airport role play area and pack their own suitcase. The children will also be making ice lolly sticks.

    Week 3 – ‘Holidays – Winter Climates’

We would also like Parents/Carers to bring in any photographs of any skiing trips or holidays in a cold climate. The children will take part in water and ice play, and explore artic locations.

Week 4 – ‘Family and Friendship’

The children will learn the importance of being a good friend and will take part in lots of turn taking activities, including using the emotion puppets to share our feelings and making friendship bracelets. Could we also ask Parents/Carers to bring in any photos of their family or email these to the Nursery. We will be making a family board and books for the children.

Parent Partnership – Reminders and Notable Dates:

    Security of Nursery Front Door
