    Canada Day – 1st July, 2016

    Canada Day July

    Canada Day is celebrated annually to celebrate the enactment of the constitution act, which united three colonies into a single country which became ‘Canada’.

    The children will be making maple leaf shapes and patriotic paper chains to decorate their nursery room.

    They will also be looking at different types of animals that live in Canada.

    Tour de France begins – 2nd July, 2016Tour De France July

    The Children will be learning about the famous cycling race ‘Tour de France’.

    We will be talking about the Tour De France during our French lesson and will be learning key words in French such as ‘race’, ‘bike’ etc.

    The children will also be designing their own Tour de France t-shirt posters.

     

    Independence Day – 4th July, 2016Independance Day July

    Independence Day is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Celebrations include parades, fireworks, concerts and baseball games.

    The children will be making blue and red wands and their own Statue of Liberty crowns. We will also be playing ball games outdoors.

    Eid al-Fitr – 7th July, 2016eid-al-fitr

    Eid al-Fitr is the three-day celebration which Muslims celebrate to mark the end of the fasting month Ramadan. The day before Eid each family will give a donation of food to the poor to ensure they can participate in the celebration too. On the day of ‘Eid families will gather together and celebrate with the exchange of gifts and meals.

    The Children will be making cards and gifts for Eid al-Fitr.

    Teddy Bear’s Picnic Day – 10th July, 2016picnic-day

    To celebrate Teddy Bear’s Picnic Day, we will be having a picnic tea on Monday 11th July, 2016 with some of our nursery teddy bear friends.

    We would like the children to bring their favorite teddy bear to nursery to join them for our garden picnic. We will be having a competition for the best dressed teddy bear!

    Bastille Day – 14th July, 2016france

    Bastille Day is the French National day which commemorates the beginning of the French revolution with the storming of the Bastille on the 14th July 1789. Celebrations include a military parade followed by fireworks and concerts.

    To celebrate Bastille Day, we will be having a French tea party. The children will be making French paper dolls using toilet roll cardboards and will be listening to French music. Our French teacher will also be joining us for a French lesson!

    Disneyland opened – 17th July, 2016

    To celebrate the opening of Disneyland on 17th July, 1955 we would like the children and team to come to nursery dressed as their favorite Disney character on Monday 18th July, 2016.

    We will be painting our favorite Disney characters, reading Disney story books and listening to our favorite Disney music.

    National Park’s Week – 25th – 31st July, 2016tree

    To celebrate National Park Week, we will be taking the children to visit the local park. We will be exploring our local community, and will be collecting natural resources to explore.
