March Newsletter 2019

Dear Parents and Carers of our Worcester Park, Kingston and Stoneleigh Nurseries,

We hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine and warmer days in February, and of course had a fantastic Valentine’s Day with their loved ones.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day the children made beautiful cards for their families and enjoyed an outing to the local shops to browse the bouquets of flowers. The children also enjoyed making Valentine’s cards and tissue paper bouquets. The children enjoyed exploring with chopsticks and noodles whilst learning about Chinese New Year, the year of the pig masks. The children have also enjoyed taking part in activities such as parachute games, obstacle courses and soft ball games.

Take a look at our gallery of photographs of what the children have been learning and exploring from the month of February at our nurseries…

    Week 2 – ‘Baby Animals’

During the second week of March the children will be learning about baby animals, and how their “family group” is made up – e.g. – a lamb is a baby sheep. We will be using the small world animals to explore these. To celebrate Comic Relief on 15th March we would like the children to wear something red in to nursery and bring in £1 to donate to the
    “Red Nose Day” charity.

    Week 3 – ‘Seasonal Changes’

This week the children will be looking at the changes from Winter into Spring. The children will be creating leaf paintings and rubbings, painting with spring colours and exploring the changes in the garden.

    Week 4 ‘My Family’

This week we will be learning all about our families, the children will enjoy talking about their families and looking at their family photos. The children will also be making Mother’s day cards for ‘Mother’s Day’ at the end of the month and talking about the special people in their lives.
