    Topics in March 2020

    As we enter into March please take a look at the different topics we will be learning about each week…

    Spring Tem Week 1 – Story Book Week – Week Commencing 02/03/2020

    This week the children will be sharing their favourite stories and will be creating their own stories. Preschool will be designing their own puppets to use in their puppet show. We invite all the children to dress up and celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, 2020.

    Week 2 – Holi Festival – Week Commencing 09/03/2020

    The children will be learning about the special festival of Holi. Holi is a Hindu festival that marks the arrival of Spring, Known widely as the Festival of Colour, it takes place over two days, and is a celebration of colour, and love. The children will be exploring colour mixing and creating their own special Holi pictures.

    Week 3 – My Family – Week Commencing 16/03/2020

    The children will be talking about their families and friends. During this week we will be gathering family photos to support us in creating our nursery family tree. We ask you to help us in this by sending us an email with photos of your child’s family.

    Week 4 – Spring time – Week Commencing 23/03/2020

    We will be learning all about the joys of spring, including weather changes, flowers blooming and baby animals. The children will be observing weather changes in the garden, how springs weather helps little seedlings to grow and what types of animals are born during springtime. The children will also be discussing what fun activities will be coming up in spring.

    Reminders:

    Wet Weather

    With the cold wet weather still looming over us could we ask that you provide some wellington boots and a rain coat for your child so that the children can explore outside even in the damp weather.

    Holidays and Absences

    Please can we remind all Parents/Carers to email the nursery in advance with any holiday dates or absences. If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.

    Security of Nursery Front Door

    Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to our Nurseries. This is for the safety of all the children.
