Our Topics in November 2019 as we enter into October, please take a look at the different topics we will be learning about each week…
Week 1 – ‘Fireworks’ - Week Commencing 04/11/2019
The children will be using different media and materials to design their own firework pictures throughout the week. We will observe what patterns and colours different fireworks make and experiment with sounds to represent the fireworks we have created.
Week 2 – ‘Puzzle Week’ - Week Commencing 11/11/2019
The children will be completing different types of puzzles, inset boards, jigsaws and knowledge puzzles. Preschool will be making puzzles from their own drawn images to bring home. We will discover that some puzzles need team work to solve.
Week 3 – ‘Thanksgiving - Week Commencing 18/11/2019
We will learn about the holiday of Thanksgiving and learn who this holiday is special for. The children will add tissue paper flames to their room menorah as the days pass. The children will also roleplay a thanksgiving dinner and we will discuss in groups the things that we are thankful for.
Week 4 – ‘Festive Prep’ - week commencing 25/11/2019
It’s time to prepare for Christmas, this week the children will be cutting out and decorating their snowflakes for our hallway display. We will be preparing our advent stockings and singing some Christmas songs.

Wet Weather
With the unfortunate spell of wet cold weather could we ask that you provide some wellington boots and a rain coat for your child so that the children can explore outside even in the damp weather.

If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.
Security of Nursery Front Door
Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to our Nurseries. This is for the safety of all the children.

Epsom Fireworks and Funfair When: Saturday 2nd November – Gates open at 5.30, display begins at 7.30pm Where: Hook Road Arena. Epsom, Surrey, KT19 8QG
Kingston Upon Thames Firework Display When: Friday 8th November, Gates open and 6.30pm, display begins at 8pm Where: Kingsmeadow Stadium, KT13PB

Imber Court Firework Display When Tuesday 5th November Where: Imber Court Sports Ground, KT8OBT
Firework Safety Tip: If you will be attending or hosting a firework event where your child may get the chance to hold a sparkler with adult supervision, Consider putting the metal end of the sparkler into a carrot, it gives little hands something larger to hold on to and can make this activity safer.
