    November 2018 Newsletter

    Dear Parents and Carers of our Worcester Park, Kingston and Stoneleigh Nurseries,

    We hope everyone enjoyed the month of October, We have enjoyed lots of craft making this month, creating seasonal sensory trays and Halloween crafts.

    During October, our focus topic of the month was based around ‘Seasonal Changes and Halloween”. The children have enjoyed exploring with leaves, pumpkin seeds and learning about the changes in the weather.

    Our Topics in November 2018

    As we enter into November, the children will take part in a variety of festivals and celebrations. Please take a look at what the children will be learning about each week…

    Autumn Term

    The children will be celebrating and recognising these special dates during November.

    5th Bonfire night

    6th-10th Diwali

    10th World Science day

    11th Remembrance Sunday

    16th Children in need

    30th St Andrews day

     

    Week 1 – ‘Bonfire Night

    The children will be explore using different resources and props to spray paint to create their own firework pictures, they will also enjoy mixing colours and creating bonfires with tissue paper.  

    Week 2 – ‘Diwali’

    The children will be exploring with different coloured sand and will be making lanterns and making cards for their families and friends this week. The children will also be decorating rangoli patterns.

    Week 3 – ‘Nursery Rhymes’

    The children will be talking about their favourite nursery rhymes this week, they will be making puppets and story sacks to look at the structure of stories.  Please let us know your family favourites for us to include in our songs.

    Week 4 ‘Christmas Preparation’

    This week we will be starting our Christmas preparation, the children will start to make decorations including snowflakes and reindeer pictures.

    Parent Partnership – Reminders and Notable Dates:

    • Children in need 16th November, 2018 is Pyjama day

     

    Security of Nursery Front Door

     Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to Nurseries.

    This is for the safety of all the children.

    Holidays and Absences

    Please can we remind all Parents/Carers to email the nursery in advance with any holiday dates or absences. If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.
