Stars Update - September 2016

    Welcome to our September Update!

During August we have celebrated lots of exciting events and sadly had to say goodbye to some more of our Pre-Schoolers, we are going to miss them all very much.

In August we celebrated Louis Armstrong’s Birthday, the children listened to ‘What a Wonderful World’ and made their own instruments to play along too. We took part in Jeans for Genes Day and wore our jeans to nursery to raise money for the charity.

We made our own pair of jeans cut out and decorated it with sequins and buttons. For World Cat Day the children shared their pet photographs at circle time. We also came to nursery dressed in our beach wear and bought our buckets and spades to play in the sand. To celebrate International Left Handers Day, the children enjoyed using their left hand to serve their lunch and take part in different activities. We made kites to celebrate India and Pakistan Independence Day. The Pre-School Children also enjoyed their Graduation Ceremony, they made us all very proud! The children also had a great time holding their own Olympic Games Ceremony.

Coming up in September we will be learning about the history of World War II and the start of The Great Fire of London, and will be making our own 3-D models. We will be celebrating International Literacy Day and Roald Dahl’s Birthday. We will be listening to the shofar to celebrate the First Day of Rosh Hashanah; the Jewish New Year. We will also be taking part in Talk Like a Pirate Day and will be making cakes for National Cupcake Week. To celebrate The European Day of languages the children will also be learning new words in different languages.
