DECEMBER NEWSLETTER 2019

    Dear Parents and Carers of our Kingston and Worcester Park Nurseries, We hope you have all enjoyed the month of November. During November we looked at Fireworks, Puzzles, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    Our Topics in December 2019

    As we enter into December, please take a look at the different topics we will be learning about each week…

    Autumn Term

    Week 1 – ‘Festive Celebrations’ - Week Commencing 02/12/2019

    The children will be focusing on making festive decorations out of salt doh ready to decorate and bring home. We will be using junk modelling materials to create our own mini snow globes and reindeer and design our greetings cards.

    Week 2 – ‘Festive Celebrations - Week Commencing 11/12/2019

    The children will continue with the festive theme and will be creating their own calendars for 2020. We will be looking at how we wrap gifts and will design festive wreaths to hang on the door and bake some delicious gingerbread men.

    Week 3 – ‘Hanukkah’ - Week Commencing 18/12/2019

    We will learn about the Hanukkah festival and why it is celebrated. We will learn about the traditions followed during this special time such as lighting the Menorah. We will also taste test some special Hanukkah style foods.

    Week 4 – Closed for Festive Break 23/12/2019

    It’s time to prepare for our Festive break, the children will be enjoying some Christmas songs and dances, some festive games and activities before we say goodbye until New Year. We look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Party on Sunday 1st December and hope you have a lovely relaxing Festive break and wish you all a Happy New Year.

    Festive Closure

    As you will be aware from our Terms and Conditions we close at 4pm on Christmas Eve – Tuesday 24th December, 2019 and re-open on Thursday,2nd January, 2020 at 7.30am. Please ensure you arrive at the Nursery by 3.55pm on Tuesday, 24th December to collect your children so that our hard working team can leave work on time to start their break.

    Wet Weather

    With the unfortunate spell of wet cold weather could we ask that you provide some wellington boots and a rain coat for your child so that the children can explore outside even in the damp weather.

    Our social media pages are a great way to stay connected with what’s going on in our Nurseries.     Holidays and Absences

    Please can we remind all Parents/Carers to email the nursery in advance with any holiday dates or absences. If your child is unwell and cannot attend their session, we also require this in an email. This is required under our Prevent Duty safeguarding requirements.

    Security of Nursery Front Door

    Please can we emphasise the importance of ensuring the front door is closed properly when entering and leaving the building. Can we also please remind all Parents and Carers to clearly state their names and who they are collecting when requesting entry to our Nurseries. This is for the safety of all the children.
