Stars Update – October 2016

    Welcome to our October Update!

We have all had a brilliant summer at Stars and have made some great memories. We are all so proud of our Pre-Schoolers that transitioned to School in September and would like to welcome all our new families and children starting.

In September we learnt about the history of World War 11 and The Great Fire of London, we made tea stained letters and 3D pop up houses.

We celebrated International Literacy Day and Roald Dahl’s Birthday. The Children enjoyed making story sacks and dressing up as Roald Dahl characters.

To celebrate ‘Rosh Hashanah’ the children listened to the sound of the shofar and played along with our own instruments. We dressed up as Pirates for ‘Talk like a Pirate Day’, learnt how to speak like a pirate and took part in a treasure hunt.

For National Cupcake Week, we made our own step by step recipe, made cakes and decorated them together.

We also learnt how to say ‘Good Morning’ in many different languages for European Language Day.

Coming up in October we will be learning about Black History Month and will be taking part in different activities. We will be decorating plates for The People’s Republic of China and creating a ‘Wall of Friendship’.  We will be learning about the endangered animals around the world for World Animal Day and also have an exciting week planned for World Space Week. We will also be celebrating No Pens Wednesday, The Battle of Hastings and the festival Diwali. We also will be making Halloween decorations and will be dressing up for our Halloween Party.
